Little Lamb Tales: New House!

I know it's been over a month since my last post, but we've had quite a lot going on around here, particularly our move from the townhouse into our first house!

We've been here for about 2 weeks and LOVE it! It's wonderful to have a fenced-in back yard for A to play in and to have more privacy and quiet. The neighborhood block party was this past week and it was so much fun to meet neighbors. There's even a family with a little boy who is just a couple months younger than A, so they're becoming fast friends (he does have a cool tricycle, which might influence her feelings toward him). =)

It's also been so nice being a little bit closer to "the cities" and right on some major highways. So convenient!

Hubby's sister and her husband and children all came over 2 Saturdays ago, to help us unpack boxes and clean. I still cannot explain how completely selfless and thoughtful they always are toward us. Their help that day was indispensable. Thank you S & R!!

I'll post some photos of the new house here, so you can get a feel for the place. It's your standard split-level built in the late 70's. The photos are obviously taken before we moved in.

Stairs off entryway, leading up to living, dining & kitchen. 3 bedrooms down hall to right.

Yard backs up to shared neighborhood park. Only houses bordering park use it, so it's really quiet all the time. Surprise, surprise: "A" will stand outside and point toward the playground and squeal with delight.

Downstairs family room with fireplace. We put our flat screen TV on the wall to the left. Play room is the back half of this area. Down hall are 2 more bedrooms, a laundry room, and a half bath.

View from living room, looking at dining room and doors leading into kitchen. We will be tearing out both walls there to have an open entertaining area, with a large kitchen island. Yay for more kitchen storage space and counter space! Carpets will be ripped out too at some point.
